What is UV-Stable resin?

UV-stable resin is a type of polyurethane resin designed to resist discoloration when exposed to sunlight. It maintains colour clarity and prevents yellowing over time.

This is particularly important in light-coloured resin driveways.

What makes resin UV-Stable

UV-stable resin contains chemical stabilisers that protect the polymer structure from ultraviolet radiation. Without these stabilisers, exposure to sunlight can cause oxidation and amber tinting.

The difference is most visible in silver, beige, and light grey aggregate blends.

How UV-Stable resin performs over time

Driveways installed with UV-stable resin maintain consistent colour tone and visual clarity for many years. The surface remains structurally strong while preserving the intended aggregate finish.

Non-UV resin may still perform structurally but can alter the aesthetic appearance of lighter stone blends.

How ResinDriveway.ie selects resin systems

ResinDriveway.ie installs UV-stable polyurethane resin as standard for residential driveways. This ensures long-term appearance retention and protects the overall finish of decorative aggregates.

We prioritise material quality to prevent avoidable surface discolouration.
